Bumper sticker seen on a car the other day:
"Some days all I want to be is a missing person."
Okay, I'm thinking about doing a quick trip (4 days, 3 nights) to New York City at the end of October. I've never been there, and I desperately want to start traveling. What kind of cool stuff do you all recommend seeing/doing? I've found a great deal on Priceline for airfare and a Manhattan hotel near the UN, and I want to book it this week before I lose my nerve...
It's an ugly, rainy day here. I got caught in a nice hard downpour while I was out running this morning. I made it 2/3 of the way through my run when the skies opened up. Figures. I'm hoping it will at least mean the humidity breaks, because it's been nothing short of miserable.
Found this lovely little saying on my Bedtime tea bag slip last night:
"Whatever you are doing is the most beautiful thing."
I am irritable and restless today, although I'm not sure why. I got a full night's sleep, but I still feel like I could use more.
Basil appears to have a nasty urinary tract infection. He started drinking a lot of water and asking to go out every five minutes yesterday. By the end of the evening, he was urinating blood. I took a sample in this morning and will get him started on antibiotics today, but it's going to take a few days before he starts getting some relief. In the meantime, the poor guy is going to be miserable.
I've been trying to post book reviews this morning but Vox is hiccuping and throwing temper tantrums like a recalcitrant baby. Annoying. I could post it without the Amazon pics of the books, but who wants to read that?
Okay, I know you all must be growing weary of my posts about my new laptop, but I can't help myself. This little deal is 5 pounds of pure joy! I have a feeling that it's going to help my writing a lot, because one major reason I've put off transferring anything that I've journaled into a finished piece of work is that I don't want to sit at the desktop in the office to do it. Now, I have no such excuse.
I do have one complaint, though. The 1 and 2 keys seem to stick a bit. Is it worth contacting HP about?
Today I saw the most obnoxious bumper sticker on some idiot's car that said:
"So how's that 'hope' and 'change' working out for you?"
Did he really think that was clever? Did the driver really believe that Obama could fix all of this country's woes, many of which were decades in the making, in a mere 7 months? I mean, really?! What is wrong with people? And if we take this a little further, what exactly could John McCain have done in those same seven months? More of the same awesome Republican bullshit that worked so well for the last 8 years?
Ugh...
I can't believe it....I'm typing this post in my living room, with my new laptop on my lap! Yay! I'm already wondering how I've managed to survive for so long chained to a desktop...
I ordered a new laptop today from HP today...very excited! It should arrive next week. I will be SO glad to be mobile with my little laptop and not have to be restricted to my office to work, write or waste time on the Internet. Yay!!
