It disappeared, literally. It felt like a whirlwind of activity, and I did lots of fun stuff, but now I need a day to recover and instead I had to go back to work and, you know, be productive. I'm glad today is finally over and I plan on collapsing on the couch very shortly and finishing a book I've been working on for ages....will post a review soon.
My house is trashed. I was pretty much gone for 4 days straight and it looks ridiculous around here. Since I've moved I've been a pretty clean person, but every once in a while I lose a few days and the house goes to shit. Don't know when I'll have the time or motivation to clean it.
I just took the doggies on a very long evening walk; it's beautiful tonight, and the air is heady with the scent of spring flowers. Everyone needs to take an evening walk in spring...
I haven't been around much lately....I started real work on my project. It's amazing how, even when you're really psyched about something, it can still go painstakingly slow. I'm trying to work on it a little every day, but it still feels overwhelming.
I tried to buy my cap and gown the other night, but the stupid bookstore closed at 5:00, so I didn't get it. Figures.
It's been really weird how my life has returned to me this quarter. Since I'm only taking one class, and it's a night class two days a week, it's almost like I'm not in school. I've spent so many years (three!) taking two classes every quarter and just trying to keep my head above water that it's weird not to have a constant and crushing pile of homework, reading, papers to write, etc. This is what my life was like before I went back to school...and I am happy to get it back. I can sleep in, tinker in the garden, work with the dogs and work on my project. The breakneck pace of life has slowed down, and I'm loving it.

"Sometimes we're going to find ourselves completely caught up in a drama. We're going to be just as angry as if someone had just walked into the room and slapped us in the face. Then it might occur to us: 'Wait a minute--what's going on here?' We look into it and are able to see that, out of nowhere, we feel that we have lost something or been insulted. Where this thought came from, we don't know, but here we are...
Right then, we can feel that energy, do our best to let the thoughts dissolve, and give ourselves a break. Beyond all that fuss and bother is a big sky. Right there in the middle of the tempest, we can drop it and relax."

Well, I think we all know my answer to this, now don't we?

"It is impossible to escape the impression that people commonly use false standards of measurement--that they seek power, success and wealth for themselves and admire them in others, and that they underestimate what is of true value in life."
